Jie Yang, MD
Staff Cardiologist
Dr. Jie Yang is an Assistant Professor of the UCSF Division of Cardiology. She is a general cardiologist with advanced training in cardiac imaging as well as heart failure. She is interested in cardiovascular prevention, valvular disease, cardiomyopathy and cardiovascular disease in women. She enjoys teaching and has been involved in medical education throughout her training and practice. During her cardiology fellowship she received the "Fellow of the Year" award from the faculty, medical students and residents two years in a row. She loves to chat with her patients and enjoys learning from them in the process of caring for them.
After growing up in Kansas, she completed her undergraduate degree at University of California, Berkeley and her medical degree at University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She then went on to finish her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She then undertook an echocardiography fellowship at UCSF and an advanced heart failure fellowship at USC. Dr. Yang was an attending cardiologist at Highland Hospital of the Alameda Health Systems before joining UCSF as clinical faculty. She has practiced cardiology in many different environments and has a breadth of experience in all aspects of cardiology.
