Dr. Teresa De Marco is medical director of heart transplantation and co-director of the CARE (Cardiomyopathy and Arrhythmia Research and Education) Center. She has more than 15 years of experience in managing patients with pulmonary hypertension and expertise in the most advanced treatments for the condition. She actively participates in multi-center studies evaluating state-of-the-art medications for pulmonary hypertension.

She is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. She earned her medical degree from the University of California at Irvine after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley. She completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in internal medicine at UCSF Medical Center. She also completed fellowships in cardiology and heart transplantation. She is a professor of medicine at the UCSF School of Medicine.
