Dr. Lisa Wilsbacher specializes in general cardiology, including acute-care cardiology, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and hypertension. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms that regulate blood vessel permeability/leakiness in the setting of inflammation and how this leakiness disrupts function in the heart and lungs over time.
Dr. Wilsbacher earned her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. She completed her internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine as well as cardiology fellowship at UCSF Medical Center. She has received several research fellowship awards, including the American Heart Association Western Affiliates Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and NIH National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Postdoctoral National Research Service Award. Dr. Wilsbacher currently holds an NIH K08 Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Award from the National Heat, Lung, and Blood Institute.
