Dr. Kirsten Fleischmann is a cardiologist specializing in echocardiography and non-invasive cardiology. In addition, her research looks at the relationship between noninvasive testing in cardiology and its outcome, the development and evaluation of efficient diagnostic and treatment strategies in acute ischemic syndromes, and the effect of secondhand smoke on outcomes in cardiac disease such as heart failure and acute ischemic syndromes.

Fleischmann earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. She went on to receive a masters in public health from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Mass. Fleischmann came to UCSF in 1998, where she is an associate professor and an attending physician.
