Tucker was "rescued" in 1996 by Nancy Campanile from Golden Gate Lab Rescue at 10 months of age. He grew up to be a wonderful, smart, athletic dog, and a perfect family pet. He was even featured on ABC Channel 7 news, describing his fate at a rescue dog. As you can tell by the initials at the end of his name, he is quite an accomplished dog. He received his CGC in In May 1997 ( Canine Good Citizen) , CD (Companion Dog) in March 1999. In May 2006, he received his CPE Agility Trial Championship. He is also a member of Therapy Dogs, Inc.(TDInc) and is active in the SF SPCA Animal Assisted Therapy Program and the Peninsula Pet Assisted Therapy Program. Tucker routinely visits UCSF's Pediatric Ward, and other local Bay Area nursing homes. Animal Assisted Therapy is a goal-directed intervention where the animal and their volunteer handler work with children and adults who are physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabled, as well as others who can benefit from the unique qualities that interaction with an animal can provide. Tucker is a great all around dog who loves people, and loves to work to please his owner. He shares his home with Maggie, a Labrador Retriever; Chili, an Australian Shepherd; and Lexi, a Border Collie. |
