Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation Fellowship provides a one-year training on the inpatient advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and pulmonary hypertension service with attendings trained in all three fields. The fellow attends clinic one day per week and learns the management of immunosuppression therapy with attending supervision. The fellow has exposure to the management of ventricular assist devices from the cardiology and surgical attendings. The fellowship provides an opportunity to learn the techniques of right ventricular endomyocardial biopsy and right heart catheterization with vasoreactivity testing. Opportunities for clinical research are also available during the year.
Completion of clinical cardiology required. The deadline for receipt of applications for the 2013 academic year is September 1, 2012.
