Cardiac Electrophysiology Program

The UCSF Cardiac Electrophysiology Program is an academic training program located at the UCSF Moffitt-Long Hospital. The Cardiac Electrophysiology Training program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and affiliated with the clinical Cardiology Fellowship at UCSF, which is fully accredited by the American Board of Internal Medicine. The fellowship consists of one-year of clinical training where all criteria for ABIM board certification in cardiac electrophysiology are met and one elective year of cardiac electrophysiology research.

The clinical year consists of training in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology, including inpatient and outpatient consultations, device evaluation and implantation, and performance of invasive electrophysiology studies and catheter ablation. Many of our trainees spend an additional year pursuing basic or clinical research and strengthen their abilities performing complex catheter ablation. The research year is flexible and can be spent in any area of your interest from basic microelectrode work to molecular biology to clinical research projects. Fellows are expected to apply for external grant funding to support the research year. You may download the application for the Cardiac Electrophysiology Training Program by clicking here. Please send me your curriculum vitae, a personal statement, and a description of your research goals and program objectives, along with the application. We require letters of recommendation discussing your skills as a clinician, including letters from the program directors of your current and past training programs. Please send them to Nitish Badhwar, MD . We are accepting applications for 2014. The deadline for these applications is 1/31/2013 REVISED.

We have an exciting program here and look forward to training world-class electrophysiologists.
